SCHOOL CLOSING INFORMATION

All decisions to delay / cancel school due to inclement weather are made by the Superintendent. On days that moderate to heavy snow is predicted, Dousman Transport (DTC) has personnel out driving the roads in the school district by 4 a.m. We also talk to other school bus companies, the county highway department and the sheriff’s department.

We stay in contact with the Superintendent and give him/her constant updates on any changing weather conditions, road conditions, and visibility. If it is necessary to close school, the decision will, in most cases, be made by 5 a.m.

A one or two hour delay is sometimes necessary to give road crews more time to plow/sand/salt or to give dense fog a chance to lift. As always, the safety of our passengers is our first concern when making recommendations to the Superintendent.
